Morgan Family Christmas Eve Traditions...

Christmas Eve:

Past years, we would go to Magleby's to help serve the homeless. We would finish really late and would all be starving, only one problem...no restaurant is open later than 5pm or 6pm on Christmas Eve.
Each year we would learn from our failed attempt the year prior. We learned that we needed to eat before we went if we wanted to eat at all.
As years have come and gone, we have changed our Christmas Eve traditions. The Magleby's tradition started to become a lot of other families traditions and we just felt like we weren't needed much anymore.
So...change of plans.
Dinner is still a must before we do anything.
Our tradition is to go to Tepanyaki as a family.

After dinner, we go to the Candlelight program.
Our friend, Scott McKinney, is a pastor in the CenterPoint church. Which is a Christ's Evangelical church. Every Christmas Eve they have a Candlelight program.

When the candlelight program ends, we all meet back at my parents to open our Christmas Eve gift.
Most families, the Christmas Eve gift is pajamas.
For our family, it is a boardgame.
The game we open on Christmas Eve is the game we play that night as well!
My parents always try to pick games that are really fun to play even as a big group.
"Likewise" is the game we recieved last year.

While playing our new game, we have the T.V. on for the "The Christmas Story" marathon.
It is a family favorite and you can catch us quoting it all season.

We then all bunk down in the basement to fall asleep with thoughts of presents under the tree!

What are your Christmas Eve traditions?
